Enterprise value (EV) Finance
Definition
Total value of a company excluding cash. Enterprise value = Market cap + Debt - Cash
Comments
A company's enterprise value is often used when calculating valuation multiples. For example, if a company has $50 million in EBITDA and is currently valued at 7x EBITDA, then the company's enterprise value is 7 X $50 million or $350 million.
