Site visit Transaction
Definition
Visiting a prospective company before making an investment. Site visits essentially cover "visual" due diligence of a company's facilities.
Comments
If the prospective sale of a business isn't public knowledge, site visits either occur after-hours or if during the day, will have a story, such as a "supplier visit" so as not to arouse employee suspicion. Meetings with management or key employees who are "under the tent" typically take place offsite.
