Follow-on fund Firm
Definition
Subsequent private equity funds established after the investment period of a prior fund.
Comments
Depending on the preliminary returns of prior funds, the target size of follow-on funds is typically larger. Firms generally cannot begin fundraising for a subsequent fund until 60% to 70% of the prior fund has been invested.
